my first trip is coming!

seychelles

I am going on a trip. for many, this may not seem all that big of a deal, but for me, this trip is huge. I will be flying to the Seychelles; a group of islands home to largest coral reef in the world- Aldabra. This reef, untouched by human hands, provides habitats for a diversity of marine life, filling the edges of these islands with the most beautiful creatures swimming in tropical waters. But, the reason I am headed to this island is for the turtles! Seychelles provides nesting grounds to the Green and Hawksbill turtle; did you know out of 1000 baby turtles, only one will survive to adulthood? Well thats where I come in, I will be there to assist in helping the turtles return safely to the ocean- and then from there, I will assist in collecting data through observation for the conservation of Green and Hawksbill turtles. I am hoping to join many of the expeditions to be able to bring awareness to the issues going around the world, lend a hand in making a different for these animals lives, and experience some amazing things while do it! Stay tuned for more!!

Introducing me

Hi! thank you for taking your time to read this, you have started reading my blog for a reason, and I want to thank you for whatever that might be. In appreciation, I promise to be brutally honest with you and with what I write.

Here it is:

My name is Tyler Grace Thomson, I am currently nineteen yeas old, and I lay on my bed in my childhood home in Merritt, BC as I write this. I graduated from Merritt secondary in 2018, I work at Boston pizza and Planet fitness (I know, to completely different things), and I am enrolled for my second year of a criminology degree.

I am writing this blog for personal reasons, to keep me on track of my goals and ambitions, to lay out my footsteps in life for me to see, but mostly to spread awareness to whomever might stumble across this page. my hope is that I can inspire one soul to volunteer for a good cause, to separate their recycling, to switch from disposable products to reusable ones. my hope is that if I dedicate my life to doing good for Mother Nature, that maybe one person watching might try to do half the amount.
